TROPHYTROPHY

Trophy

September 08 2025

Before Sevach there was Trophy1. Over time, artists change in style and skill (especially so when you're learning) and so at times it can be liberating to be able to put an end to certain chapters and start new stories. So it was with Trophy (stylised as TROPHYTROPHY), the alias I held from 2020-2022.

In retrospect, I admire the approach I took with Trophy: I had created an environment in which the songs I would release all had a very distinct intention. They took anywhere between 20 minutes and 80 hours and they meant either a whole lot to me or they were just fun remixes meant to entertain. In the future, I would like to create a similar environment with Sevach, sharing diverse songs with diverse intentions. I look up to artists like Deaton Chris Anthony and Toro Y Moi who build these worlds in many of their albums (though I doubt they wrote their songs as quickly as I wrote some of mine).

1 ...and before that there was Krohna, but that's another story.

goodbye, Trophy! (45-53)

To formally put an end to Trophy I compiled songs I found representatory for its narrative. Here's what I wrote at that time:

August 29 2022

>>>Our favourite golden man finally becomes ethereal.

"goodbye, Trophy! (45-53)" is a compilation of me: >>>TROPHYTROPHY.
Over the past 2+ years I've created a project that I've grown to love and cherish, but today, Trophy ends. On this day, the 29th of August (2022) I will have been producing for exactly 5 years. Coincidentally, it is also my birthday.

About "45-53"

The songs are arranged in chronological order.
True story, the ONLY reason I started to give my songs numbers for titles was because I saw a grape milk song called "54" on ayzlynn - I thought it would be funny if someone's entire discography would just be songs from 0 to 100, but because I knew I wasn't going to make 100 songs, I decided to pick a number close to 54 (46) and work my way up from there, until I reached 53.

46
directly inspired by grape milk's "54"
48
inspired by LORN and Jamie xx, made while reading George Orwell's 1984 (84->48)
47
just grape milk being grape milk- "I GOT FOURTY-SEVEN DOLLARS!!!"
50
my dad turned 50 - I knew I was gonna make 50 some day, so why not now?. I fell in love with the concept of assemblyline and was also listening to a lot of "just-transposing-chords-house". So why not blend that with IDM?
WYRM (49)
inspired a bit by eliderp, i just named the project 49, but later decided that the name WYRM would be nice. 1 + 1 = 2 and WYRM + 49 = WYRM (49)
52
ORIGINALLY "HAUNTED HAUSE HAUSE" made for PMC's halloween comp but re-mixed and re-mastered
53
such a blast i had working with alti. the energy this guy whips out is incredible and inspiring >>>"we have kidnapped leotrix"
45
I KNEW I wanted to make garage like Gemi some time. And what better candidate to work with than an actual brit. Illford I love you.
lola (51)
i think there's about 3 unreleased songs in my collection that were all supposed to become 51. I felt like 51 was truly cursed so I decided that for All Nighter Vol. 6 I would just make the final 51, whether it was shit or not. Five minutes before All Nighter started, Lewis and I decided to collaborate on it yet again. And my oh my was this experience amazing. Lewis and I both totally went in a different direction after having settled on some chords, and then mashed it back into each other. After 24 hours, this was truly the 51 I knew I had in me. Am I proud.
