These past two weeks were filled with lessons that had nothing to do with music. Every year, HKU students of almost every faculty get the chance to choose between different seminars, mostly involving interdisciplinary exercises and lectures (though some followed a very different trajectory). The seminar I chose was called “collective creativity” (dubbed cocr1). We discussed teamwork, learned about how different collectives were formed and what pros and cons could be found regarding collectives and creative sanctuaries.
To complete the seminar we built a small relic: a little friends book, made to document and symbolise our collectivity, goals and friendship. These two weeks were a happy two weeks.

- Our tutor jokingly noted any collective/creative sanctuary could only be successful if its members/associates would organically make up (a) creative abbreviation(s). ↩︎
